Several different types of pencil strokes are used in this drawing: the staccato, broken line that comprises the head, minimal facial features, neck and kneecaps; overlaid marks to add definition to the sides of torso, outlines of legs, and crotch; and the side edge of the pencil for extra volume at waist and crotch.
