1550-712 BCE
Unknown Artist (Ancient Egyptian)

Notes
Donor (possibly through purchase or exchange with Dikran Kelekian, who dealt in Egyptian antiquities)
This object represents the Lion-headed Goddess of War and also of Healing and Disease, Sekhmet, who wears the disc of the sun with the Uraeus (Cobra).
She is the consort of Ptah and is one of the Memphis Triad of Ptah, Sekhmet, and Nefertum.
Her slender figure and proportions, as well as the quality of the representation suggests at New Kingdom date.
