Notes
Bibliography and comments for 1951.2.15 are also appropriate here. A specific type of pendant, these objects, although not as common as the Master of Animals finials, have close matches in various collections, especially in the art market. The head type can be found in the Philadelphia University Museum and at Munich, see: Pope and Ackerman, vol. VII, p. 59 and Zahlhaas, p. 88. The closest match, including head types, knee knobs, and collar sets, is an object advertised by the Barakat Gallery of Hong Kong and London. - Rebecca Corrie, July 28, 2020
